Frys.com Open tournament director Ian Knight announced today that Clos LaChance Winery will be the official wine partner of the Frys.com Open, scheduled to be played at CordeValle, located in San Martin, Calif., October 3-9, 2011.
“We are pleased to partner with Clos LaChance and co-owners Bill and Brenda Murphy, who are also CordeValle members,” said Knight. “Clos LaChance will serve as the tournament’s beautiful entrance and entertainment center; we are excited to have such a stunning setting as part of our event.”
The winery, which is located next to the Frys.com Open’s 15th hole, will be the site of the Tuesday evening Official Pro-Am Pairings Party as well as being open to the public Thursday – Sunday of tournament week.
Additionally, during the month of October, the winery will be in full operation. Those attending the tournament will have the opportunity, if they choose, to experience the winery’s harvest and crush.
Clos LaChance Winery & Estate Vineyard is located in San Martin, CA (20 miles south of San Jose). Co-owners Bill and Brenda Murphy opened the winery production facility in time for the 2001 harvest. Clos LaChance Winery takes its name from the small fenced-in area encompassing a vineyard (Clos) and from co-owner Brenda Murphy’s maiden name.
