“I am thrilled to be named the tournament director for the Frys.com Open and am happy to be coming back to Scottsdale,” the 39-year-old Reid said. “I have a lot of ties in this community and I look forward to renewing a lot of relationships as we prepare for the 2008 tournament.”
Prior to joining the Arnold Palmer Invitational, Reid spent more than 12 years working in the Scottsdale area, most recently for the Southwest Section PGA (2002-2006), where he served as the tournament director for the Arizona Open and was responsible for the development and sales of sponsorship packages for Southwest Section programs.
Additionally, Reid spent five years (1994-1999) as the tournament director for more than 65 golf events annually at the Southwest Section PGA; a year as tournament director at Grayhawk Golf Club in 2002; and three years as vice president and director of club operations for GOLFMATRIX, LLC.
Born and raised in Paradise Valley, Reid earned a degree in business administration from Grand Canyon University and was a member of the school’s golf team, where he was an all-district selection in 1990 and 1991.
